Artistic heritage of painter Nicholas Roerich has become the key source of inspiration for designing the Fall-Winter collection, which RITO will present on September, 8th within the Ukrainian Fashion Week.
The designer of the brand Alyona Pikul took two paintings by this artist as a basis - "Steps of the Himalayas" and "Garden of Eden", which became the keynote of different parts of the collection. Each of them has its own mood, though together they look as one whole.
"Steps of the Himalayas" with its cold mountain graphics gave the collection a wide palette of shades - from crystal blue to reserved gray, which was announced by Pantone one of the main colors of this Autumn. And the very nature of the highest mountain system of the Earth gave the collection the images of its inhabitants: deer, bears, eagles. Pikul featured them laconic and strict, like the surrounding wildlife.
"Garden of Eden" shows nature in its other manifestation - romantic and exciting, the way it appears at dawn with its haze and ashy-pink range of shades. Alyona Pikul took these shades as the basis, combining them with lurex notes and playful ruffles. The paradise birds also found their places in the collection – they decorated the laconic coats and pencil skirts.
The visual image of the collection is maximized with the help of selected shapes and silhouettes. They show the influence of the Victorian era - stiff pleated skirts, flared to the bottom bell-dresses characteristic of late Victorian, sweaters with accentuated shoulder line and collars and voluminous coats, under which a lady of that time could even hide her bustle.
